GIRL GUIDES' ASSOCIATION.
The last quarterly meeting of the combined committees was held at tho Y.W.C.A., Mrs. Bruce Mackenzie presiding until the arival of Dr. Buckley Turkington, provincial commissioner. It was unanimously decided that it was advisable to form a divisional executive, and tho divisional commissioner, Miss B. Knight, is now taking steps in this direction.
Tho new headquarters in London was referred to by Miss Statham, who read a letter from Miss E. Bell, Deputy-Chief Commissioner, in which she suggested that as Guides all over the wide world wero contributing to tho cost of tho building, she was of opinion that a room to be called "New Zealand" would be suitable. As there are now over 15,000 Guides in the Dominion it would only mean a very small sum from each of them. Miss Statham proposed that the sum of 10s should be sent from tho committee, but an amendment proposed by Mrs. McNair and seconded by Mrs. Seagar, that 20s should be the sum, was unanimously carried, tho money to be forwarded to Mrs. Wilson at once.
Dr. Buckloy Turkington thanked the gathering for the work they had done during the year, and specially mentioned the commissioners who had great difficulties to overcome, and had shown great tact and discretion in dealing with them.
