DEBT FIVE YEARS OLD.
AN UNPAID TAXI FARE.
COURT ORDERS SETTLEMENT.

MORRINSVILLE, Saturday
An unpaid taxi fare, incurred five years ago, resulted in a Maori, T. Hotene, jun., appearing before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Morrinsville Magistrate's Court to defond a claim for £1 lis 6d, by Joseph G. Muir, taxi owner, Morrinsville.
Summarising the evidence, tho magistrate said the liability was incurred five years ago. One party stated that the order was given at the taxi stand, and the other said it was given through the telephone. Defendant, however, admitted giving the order and saying who was speaking on the telephone, thereby making himself liable. Judgment was giv v en for Muir for £1 lis 6a, with costs £1 3s.
