TAXI-DRIVER DROWNS HIMSELF
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN COrvBESFONDENT.] CAMBRIDGE. Friday. After a period of seven weeks the mystery surrounding the disappearance, on tho evening of Octdber 3, of Benjamin Seabourne, a taxi-driver, of Cambridge, a married man, aged ,45, has been cleared up. This morning a body was found in tho Waikato River, about three-quarters of a mile below tho wharf, and was identified as that of the missing man. On October 3 a sealed envelope was handed to tho local police by n friend of tho doceasod, at his rcquost. Tho polico found Scabournc's car by tho river wharf with a hat on tho front seat, under which was £3 IBs 4d in notes and silver. Thero was no sign of the missing man, nor had tlioro been any until yesterday afternoon, when body of a man "was seen caught in willows on tho surface of tho river.
An inquest concerning tho death was hold this aft(!rnoon before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., tho coroner. Evidence of identification was given and a verdict returned that the deceased committed suicide by drowning himself.
