' LONDON", Nov. 21. The annual report of the New Zealaijd Loan and Mercantile .Agency Company for the year ended June 30 shows a net profit, after writing £IO,OOO off premises, of £179,715. Canadian Jonathan apples met with a good demand at the Auckland City) Markets yesterday. Sturmer apples were very dull of sale. Large "quantities of gooseberries were marketed and sold at considerably decreased rates. .A fair demand existed for lemons. A small stock of New Zealand cherries realised lis to 15s a case. Increased supplies of hothouse tomatoes sold at reduced values* Repacked ripo bananas brought 22s to 25s a case. The field produce market -was glutted with new potatoes, wliile heavy supplies of green peas and cabbago were available. Largo stocks of marrows, beans and all lines of root vegetables came forward* there being a fair "demand. New pota- _ toes showed a considerable decrease - iff price. The values for cabbago and cauliflower were slightly 1 increased. There was a very heavy supply _o£ poultry, tho prices with the 'exception ( of cockerels showing a slight decline. A! very fair demand existed for all classes of birds. No pullets were available. Gob-, biers' sold at 8s to 15s each.

There were no changes in .the values for tho six grades of hen and 'duck eggs. A 1 » good demand existed for moderate supplies of both classes of eggs.
