LONDON WOOL SALES.

PRICES STILL MAINTAINED.

NEW ZEALAND MERINO. LONDON, Nov. 21. At the London wool sales to-day 10,734 bales were offered, of which 1403 wore from New Zealand. There was a large and representative' selection of greatsy Moritios, Prices were maintained. There were some withdrawals owing to tho high reserves. A New Zealand greasy Merino clip, "Taradalo," sold at to 14|d.

WOOL SELLING CAMPAIGN. LONDON, Nov. 21

At a meeting of the International Wool Federation at Bradford next week representatives of 10 nations will discuss the question of intensifying the use of wool throughout the world.

The Bradford tops market is unchanged. One or two cheap sellers are depressing Merino prices. Low erossbreds are slightly harder. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated November 21, regarding the frozen meat market : • New Zealand Lamb. —Prime Canterbury, 281b to 361b, B£d; North Island, 7jd; Canterbury, 361b to 421b, 7;} d; North Island, 7 3-8 d; Canterbury, second quality, 7d; North Island, 7d; Canterbury, 421b to 501b, 7-|d. The market for New Zealand lamb is weak and the demand is poor. New Zealand Mutton.—Prime Canterbury, 481b to 561b, 6|d; North Island, 6d; Canterbury, 561b to 641b, 6 l-8d; North Island, 5 7-8 d; Canterbury ewes, 461b to 641b, 4 l-8d; North Island, 4 l-Bd. The market for New Zealand mutton is weak and the demand is limited.

Australian Lamb.—Good average quality, 281b to 361b, fair average quality, 281b to 361b, The market for Australian lamb is very weak and the demand is poor. Australian Mutton.—Good average quality, 401b to 601b, 4£d; fair average quality, 301b to 551b, 4|d; ewes, 4d. The market for Australian mutton is weak and the demand is limited. Beef.—Argentine chilled hinds, fores, 3d. Pork. —English pork, 801b to 1001b, 12d; New Zealand porkers, 801b to 1001b, 10£ d; 1001b to 1201b, 9|d. Business in the milling wheat market continues to be quiet so far as the local demand ■is concerned. Prices remain unchanged at ,5s 9d per bushel, sacks extra, country sidings, for Tuscan; 6s for Hunters; and 6s 6d for Velvet. There does not now appear much prospect of any change 'in the market until the new season's crop comes in. Good fowl wheat is selling slowly and the market appears to be slightly firmer. The general quotation is 5s f.o.b., sacks extra, Lyttelton, for prompt shipment, and 5s lid for Timaru. The local quotation is 6s a bushel, ex rail. Business in oats continues quiet, with the local demand confined principally to lines for feed. There is no change in values, A grade being worth 3s 8d f.0.b., s.i., and B's 3s 7d. Oats are still on offer for April-September delivery at 3s 7jd f.0.b., s.i., for A's, and 3s 4d for B's. Supplies of .Duns are also on the short side. The local chaff market continues firm. Holders of good Quality are asking £6 10s a ton, ex store, sacks extra, and £6 ss, ex truck. A fair quantity of old potatoes is still held by merchants, and some growers also have small lots. New potatoes have beon arriving by every boat from Auckland, and as a consequence old ones have become a drug on the market. There is a wide range of price for old potatoes, from £4 to £6, sacks in, ex store. A steady demand continues for all grasses and also for cocksfoot, and stocks of these seeds are now in small compass. The wholesale value of good quality' ryegrass is 7s a bushel, f.0.b., with Italian and Western Wolths at 6s 3d. A little more interest is being shown in the dogstail market, which is now improving.
