THE GLASS TABLE.
Small dining room tables are often now completely covered with glass, but for a larger surfaco it is cheaper to uso table-mats of glass. The table-mat is placed beneath the glassmat, and not only is tho polished surfaco afforded complete protection from hot dishes, but tho mats remain unsoiled. The sideboard, too, should be protected in tho same, manner.
Glass finger-plates aro fashionable, cither in plain coloured glass or in clear glass under which is placed a motif to harmonise with tho decoration of tho room. The effect is most attractive.
