THE CENOTAPH.
Sir May I, on behalf of the Returned Soldiers' Association, ask the aid of your paper in connection with the above. In your advertisement columns appears an advertisement of ours, inviting the nex - of-kin and relatives of deceased so.diers to file past the Cenotaph in the evening of the 28th inst., and deposit wreaths thereon, also to returned scldiers to assemble and file past the afterwards. In London it is the general practice for men passing the Cenotaph at any time to raise their hats as a token of respect to those who have passed on, and for people on any day to place wreaths or flowers on the Cenotaph. We wish to inaugurate a similar cwtonjn Auckland, also to give .those returned soldiers who are unable to be present m the afternoon an opportunity of paying their tribute to their dead pals on the opening day. E. H.■
