PALESTINE DISORDERS.
DEMONSTRATION BY ARABS.
REASON FOR PERMISSION.
JERUSALEM, Oct. 31. In giving evidence before the Palestine Commission, Major Saunders, acting-police commander, admitted that the Government had permitted an Arab demonstration at the Wailing Wall on August 16. Any attempt to prevent it would have resulted in the beginning of a general massacre. Major Saunders added: "With the small force of British police and special constables at our command I have not the slightest doubt that there -would not have been one of us left."
