DEATH OF MULL MANAGER.

A fatal accident 'Occurred on a tosh railway at Mamaku this morning, the victim being Mr. Frederick 0. Allan, mill manager for Messrs. Gamman and Company, of Mainaku. At 13. o'clock he was. travelling back from the bush on the company's locomotive and heard: a noise as if something was striking the lower part-, c? the engineH» leaned out from the cab of the' engine and struck his head against this post of a cattle stop.
Mr. Allan was obviously seriously injured and the men with him decided to. bring him to King George Hospital, but he died on the way. Mr. Allan was married and had beeu employed for many years by Messrs. Gamman and Company.
