MY BUSY WEEK.

(Original). ■ JOHN MEARES. Gate Pa;, Tauranga, (12 xuarlis). I am a little fox-terrier pup, and 1 will mow relate to vou some my adventures during the week. Monday: I woke up in the morning with the sun streaming in at the door of my kennel. I went into the house, where I became entangled between Ook'« legs, and ended by tripping her up. Tearing out of the house I came into collision with the cat/ who stood swearing at me until I reached my kennel. Tuesday: The qext day I went into the house as usual, only to be chased by Cook. She really ought to have mora manners. Wednesday: Going next day into t'ha house, I found mv way into the boot cupboard. Oh! what a tims I had worrying those boots. Tiring of this I came out just as Cook Came past. Slipping through her legs I shot out of the door straight for my sanctuary. . Thursday: Next afternoon I noticed that the pantry door was open. A bold adventurous feeling seized me and I stepped within. Fresh milk! It soon disappeared, as also did some nice tarts. Something new was on the.point of being discovered when Cook. bounced into the room. I will not repeat the phrases that followed. Friday: The day was wet and miserable. On the way to the house I had to pass the duck pond, and, of course, it was my luck to slip into it However, I was rescued. Saturday: I happened to get my head caught in an empty jam tin, and, in. my terror, I rushed about the yard, Ranging into every tiling. At last it becams caught in some climbers and to my intenss jov, came off. Sunday: An advertisement in the paper about me was answered by a big man on a horse. He had 8 talk with master, and then, coming over to my kennel. hj« picked me up, put me in his pocket, and rode away to his farm in the hills, where I am living now, and amusing myself catching rats.
