CYCLE ROAD RACE.
NORTH ISLAND CONTEST, [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] HAWERA, Friday. The North Island championship cycle road race yestsrday, over a 44-mile course at Kaponga, resulted as follows:—J. Wigg (New Plymouth), 9m handicap, lh 56m 20s actual'riding time, 1; C. Henfy (New Plymouth), 9m handicap. 11l 56m 20 2-ss, 2; G. Belli (Stratford), 10£ m handicap, lh 57m 50 4-ss. 3: Coleman (Ngaere), 10£ m handicap, lh 57in 41s, 4. The fastest lime honours went to O. Aroa, of New Plymouth, who did the journey in lh 51m 14 2-ss. He started off the lm mark, and finished sixth. . The fastest time for under lb years was registered by A. p'is (New Plymouth), whose time was lh 55m los. He finished tenth, off the 5m inaik. / Twenty-two competed, under unfavourable weather conditions.
