HARBOUR BRIDGE.

Sir,—lt is strange the utter selfishness, almost amounting to foolishness, shown by a few individuals over the above matter. For instance, one of our townplanners said he would. seldom use the bridge. Possibly there are hundreds of bridges this gentleman seldom uses, but it would be a poor argument why they should not have been built. The money taken from the people and the intolerable inconvenience in crossing that small span of water is outrageous in comparison to the estimated cost. In my opinion there is not better investment in New Zealand than the Auckland harbour bridge. Onerca. H. H.. Smith. -
