THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE.

FAIR BUSINESS TRANSACTED.

A fair volume of business was transacted on the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday. There was continued demand for Government securities, although in sevoral instances buyers reduced their offers. In commercial debentures New Zealand Breweries sold at 295, an increase of 3d on the last sale. New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering of Canterbury, 1945, were done at £94 10s.

There was little change in the bank section. Commercials of Australia had sale at 28s 9d, 2d less than the last sale, and more were offered at 28s lOd. New South Wales improved further to sell at £49 ss, an increaso of 5s on the last sale. Unions of Australia, Melbourne register, changed hands at £l4 14s 6d, a drop of Is 6d.

In insurance New Zealands were done at. 46s 3d, an improvement, of sd. Nationals changed hands at 16s Bd, an increaso of 3d. Otherwise tlio section was quiet. In loan and agency Farmers' Co-oporativo Auctioneering, ex dividend, were sought at 78s, sellers 91s 6d. Hie keen demand for coal shares was maintained, prices remaining at current levels. In gas Aucklands sold at the ruling price, 24s 9d. . , , . Breweries shares were in keen demand. Tho prefercnco issue of C. L. Innes and Company was sought at 21s 6d, an increase of 6(1. Buyers of New Zealands also advanced 6d to 88s, sellers the miscellaneous section Colonial Sugars sold at £54 ss, a drop of 2s 6d on a sale in Wellington on tho previous day, and of £3 5s oil the last sale made in Auckland carlv last month. The contributing issue of 'New Zealand Refrigerating improved 6(1 lo sell at 6s. The section renerallv showed little change. Dominion Investment and Banking shares were listed for tho fust time, 20s shares being offered at 22s 6d.
