WEDDINGS.

CHAFFEY—TAVERNER. At St. Martin's Church, Greatford, on Wednesday Miss Leslie Crawford Taverner, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Taverner, Ellangowan, Bulls, was married to Mr. Samuel Murray Anderson, eldest son of the lato Colonel and Mrs. Chaffey, of North Canterbury. The church had been decorated with kowliai by the bridesmaids and friends. The Rev. White was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory georgette with an uneven hemline and overdress of finely-kilted georgette. A veil of old Limerick lace, with a tiny circlet of orange blossom, fell over the long train of palest pink georgctto and Mechlin lace, -which was carried by Joan Moore, niece of the bride. A bouquet of pale pink blossoms and white heather, tied with pale pink ribbon, was carried. In attendance on the bride was Mrs. John Moore (Christchurch), matron of honour, and Misses Cynthia Wilson and Pattio Lcvett, dressed alike in deep apricot with overdress of cream lace. Tho bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Ralph Chaffey (North Canterbury), Mr. I. Stowart (Christchurch) and Mr. Lewin Taverner (Levin).

A Y LING—LEVIN. [FROM OUR OWNI CORRESPONDENT.] LONDON, Aug. 30. At Christ Church, Victoria Road, South Kensington, tho wedding took placo on August 24, of Mr. Francis Taylor Ayling and Miss Sybil Featherston Levin. The brido was the youngest daughter of the lato Major W. F. G. Levin (who was killed at Gallipoli in 1915), and tho lato Mrs. Levin, and grand-daughter of Lady Johnston, of Wellington. In the church thero was a largo attendance of relatives and friends of both families. Tho service was choral and tho coremony was solemnised by the vicar, the Rev. it. W. Matthews. In the absence through illness of the brido's uncle, Mr. Robert L. Levin, Captain Hawkins gave her away. Choristers met the bridal party on their arrival and preceded them up" the navo sing tho hymn "Lead Heavenly Father." Tho brido wore a picture gown of ivorv duchesso satin, with full skirt, which developed into a long train at tho back. Bands of diamante trimmed the dress, and over all was an enveloping veil of tulle, which formed a train. It was held in place by a tiara-head-dross of orange buds. Tho shoaf bouquet was of damask roses tied with streamers of silver tissue, Miss A. M. Levin, in attendance upon her sister, was in a dress of buttercup yellow georgette, with crinoline hat to match. Sho carried of golden apricot gladioli and bronze everlasting flowers. Mr. Mark Morrison (cousin of tho bridegroom) was best man, and tho ushers wero Mr. Pat. .GatliornpHardy (cousin of the bride) and Mr. C. Morrlsoi. (cousin of tho bridegroom). A very pleasant reception followed at Bailey's Hotel, Captain and Mrs. Hawkins receiving'the guests.
