The final of the Falcon Cup competition between Tramways and Manurewa was decided at Blandford Pnrk on Saturday before s. fair attendance of spectators. Tramways obtained a good win by 3 gouls to 0, Tho ground was in perfect order. following .were the teams
Tramways.—Batty. McElligott, Simpson, Tinkler, Christie, Fyfvio. Spons. Bell. Spencer, Williams, Strctton. Manurewa.—Parks. A. Donaldson. Ross. Brown,, Lees, Clark, Anderson, Williamson, Palmer, Hart, II Donaldson. Mantirewa commenced well with a surprise attack which had McElligott and Simpson in troublo. Tramways instantly repulsed, Spong and Bell weaving downfield on tho right llank. Spong crossed accurately, only tr see a good chance go begging. Play swung rapidly from end to end, both back divisions being subjected to prolonged assaults. . Spong raced goalwards and inpassed to Spencer who collected up witn Stretlon. The last-named. . faced with an open goal, shot hopelessly wide of the mar«. Tramways continued to press, and several movements nearly proved fruitful, hut forceful blocking by Lees was an upsetting factor. ' Sprightly Manurewa movements, initialed by A. Donaldson, gave Anderson and Palmer a chance to progress into the 1 ramways zone. Simpson sent back and 1 was forced to face a series of deadly iihota emanating from the Tramways forward line. After a stirring rnritest in which scientific play was at a premfum. North Shore emerged victorious by 3 goals to 2.
