THE WAR MEMORIAL.

Sir, —Although an official of the Returned Soldiers' Association, I am not addressing you in my official capacity on that body, 'but I hate hiding behind pen names. I arn permitted, however, to state that tho suggestion to remove the roll of honour from the Hall of Memories to a Memorial Arch put before you by some influential ex-service men has nover been submitted to or discussed by the Returned Soldiers' Association. On Saturday "Gallipoli" actually supports the removal of tho roll of honour to a Memorial Arch, and at the same timo urges the Government to see that it is left in the Hall of Memories. My recommendation to all ex-service men is to stick to their own Returned Soldiers' Association, to work for the completion of the memorial features as conceived by our soldier architects and detailed and illustrated in the 1923 appeal of the War Memorial Committee, and not to gp flying after any other objectives put up in tho meantime. S. C. Reid.
