NEW GOSPEL HALL.
OPENING AT BIRKENHEAD.
A new Gospel hall, with seating accommodation for 150 people, was opened at Birkenhead on Saturday afternoon, the location being opposite the post office. There was a large attendance.
Mr. R. A. Laidlaw, who officiated at the ceremony, said that work by the Brethren had proceeded quietly in the district for the past 18 years. "Such progress had been made that it was decided to establish a Gospel meeting, and open a Sunday school. The provision of the hall had been facilitated by the generosity of a woman member, who had given the land for the purpose. Other speakers were Messrs. D. Templeton, R. Laidlaw, sen., Forbes McLeod, missioner, T. Cairns, H. Yolland, T. H. Salmon, and B. Rout. \ Tea was served from 5 to 6 p.m., and evening worship was resumed at 7 p.m. Regular morning and evening services were inaugurated yesterday, also the afternoon Sunday school.
