The Waimea arrived at Oishorno from Auckland at midnight on Thursday and •ailed for Napier and Auckland at one o'clock yesterday afternoon. Bhc is due at Auckland to-morrow evening or early on Monday morning. From South Island ports, Wellington and Napier, the Kurow arrived at mid-day yesterday. Sbo is discharging at Prince's Wharf and ia to sail for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff on Monday. The Wnipiata left Timaru for Lyttelton Inst evening to continue loading general cargo for Wellington and Auckland. She ih expected to reach Auckland about Thursday. The Westport, Coal Company's steamer Canopus left \Vestport for Auckland at two o'clock on Thursday afternoon. She is expected at daybreak to-morrow and will berth at King's Wharf. The Union Company's oil tanker Otokia is hoing overhauled at Wellington and im expected to sail f"r San Luis next Wednesday to load another bulk oil cargo for discharge at the company's tanks at Miramar. . ULIMAROA LEAVES SYDNEY. The Huddart-Pnrker steamer Ulimaroa loft Sydney for Wellington at mid-day yesterday. She is due at Wellington on Tuesday morning. TOFUA LEAVES SUVA. Tho Union Company's Island steamer Tofua. en route from Auckland, left Suva for Tonga and Samoa yesterday afternoon. Sho is due back at Auckland on October 29. THE ROTORUA. The New Zealand Shinning Company's liner Rotorua sailed for Wellington yesterday lo complete loading for London. Sho is to be despatched from Wellington for Southampton and London at daybreak next Saturday. TFIE REMUERA. After unloading a large quantity of genoral -merchandise from London at Prince's Wharf the New Zealand Sliioping Company's liner Remnera is to sail for Wellington on Tuesd.iy to complete discharge. WAIHEKE STEAMERS. The Northern Company advises that owing to the change to summer time the Waiheke excursion steamers will leave Waiheke for Auckland to-morrow half-an-hour later than usual. KARTIGI TO RESUME. Tho Kartigi, which is undergoing overhaul at Western Wharf, is to be recomniissioncd early next week. She is scheduled to sail for Gieymouth on Tuesday. THE GABRIELLA. Tho Lamb steamer Gabriella is to sail for Napier and Groymouth this afternoon to complete unloading hardwood front Australia. The vessel loaded a quantity of timber at Auckland and she will fill up with timber for Australia at Gieymouth.

CAPE EC.MONT LIGHT. The Marine Department advises that the existing fixed light at Capo Egmont is to be altered in November to a group flash ing light showing three flashes every forty seconds. THE MAUNGANUI. The Union Company's intercolonial steamer Maunganui, which is laid up in port, v-ill be removed from Queen's Wnarf to Central Wharf at ten o'clock this morning to undergo overhaul. THE WAIPAHI. The Waipahi is to leave Portland to-day with a cement cargo for Wellington and Lyttelton. After discharge the vessel will load general cargo at Lyttelton and return to Auckland direct. On October 23 sho is to leave Auckland for Samoa. THE MARAMA. With passengers, mail anA cargo for Sydney the Union Company's intercolonial steamer Maranuv sailed yesterday afternoon. Tho vessel will return to Auckland from Sydney and sho is duo back at this .port on October 22. NEW MOTOR-SHIPS ON ORDER. Tho three new vessels which are to ho constructed for the New Zealand Shipping Company will bo twin screw motor-ships of 0000 tons. One vessel will bo fitted with Vickers M.A.N., single-acting, two-stroke engines, another will have Sulzer engines, and tho third Doxford engines. THE KAITOKE. Tho Kaitoke. wl}ich arrived from Gladstone, Queensland, on Thursday night, berthed at King's Wharf yesterday morning to unload her cargo of over -1000 tons of coal. Sho is expected to be in port until next Friday.

Lines chartered steamer Tredinnick states that she will reach Auckland from New York at noon on Monday. The vessel lias general merchandise for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Cargo for Auckland will be unloaded at Queen's Wharf. THE CALLANDIA. A berth has been allotted at King's Wharf for the steamer Callandia. which is expected from Port Arthur, Texas, and Los Angeles at an early date, but she had not reported by wireless yesterday. The vessel is under charter to the Texas Oil Company and her case oil and other petroleum cargo is for discharge at Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin and Australian ports. A. G. Frankham. Limited, are the local agents. NEW STEAMER KARERO. Captain W. W. Hender is to proceed to England by the Rotorua to bring to New Zealand the Union Company's new cargo steamer Karepo. which is one of the two new steamers chat have been constructed for the company. The other vessel is named the Kaimiro and will be the first of the two to reach New Zealand. They are vessels of 3500 tons with a speed of 10J to II knots and are designed for use in the West C'oast coal trade, as well n3 other cargo services THE PORT MELBOURNE. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company lias received advice that the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Melbourne is now to leave New Plymouth on Monday night and is due at Auckland on Wednesday. The vessel will load a quantity of refrigerated and general cargo i<t Auckland and will then proceed to Gisborne, Napier and Wellington to complete loading tor England. From Wellington the Port Melbourne in to be despatched for London, via Montevideo. MAUI POMARE REPORTS. Spcdding, Ltd.. has received advice that the Government motor-ship Maui Pomare has reported by wireless that she will arrive at Dunedin from Apia and Nine Island at dayhreak on Tuesday. The message also advises "All Well." Tho vessel will unload fruit and Island prodnco at Dunedin. Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland. She is scheduled to reach Auckland on October 20, and is to sail for Norfolk Island on the following day. PUKEKO AND AWAHOU. Messrs. Watkin and Wallis advise that the Richardson Bteamer Pukeko is duo at Portland this morning and at Auckland to-morrow. The vessel will load at Central Wharf and is to be despatched for East Coast bays, Napier and Wairoa at four o'clock on Monday afternoon. The Awahou is due from Gisborne to-mor-row and will berth at Queen's Wharf. She is scheduled to sail for East Coast bays and Gisborne at five o'clock on Tuesday evening. TAIROA UNLOADING. The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Tairoa, which arrived from Liverpool on Thursday night, berthed at Prince's Wharf yesterday morning to unload 3500 tons of general merchandise from Glasgow and Liverpool. The remainder of the cargo iB for discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. The vessel sailed from Liverpool on August 31 and cleared Panama on September 16.
