LAUNCH RECOVERED.
NO DAMAGE TO BABY LU.
YOUTH APPEARS IN COURT.
The launch Baby Lu, owned by Mr. W. A. Boucher, managing director of Spedding, Limited, which had been missing from Mechanics' Bay since Tuesday, was recovered yesterday off Eastern Beach, Buckland's Beach. No damage had been done to the boat, and the owner removed her to moorings in Mechanics' Bay early last evening. A message was received by the Auckland police yesterday morning that the boat was lying anchored a mile off Eastern Beach. Mr. Boucher and detectives went to the locality in the launch Luana, placed at their disposal by Mr. R. D. Rodgers. When examined the launch was in a dirty condition and contained the remains of food. Residents stated that the launch arrived in 4he bay on Tuesday afternoon and a man rowed ashore from it in a dinghy. The dinghy has been recovered, and has been identified as one stolen from the Rev. Jisper Calder's boatshed. On the launch itself were a spirit-stove and a riding-light, also the property of Mr. Calder.
" The youth who was discovered on a launch in Mechanics' Bay on Thursday apd was detained by the police appeared in the Children's Court yesterday. He was remanded to appear to-day.
