REVIEW OF THE FIELDS. BY PICADOR. ' A. moderate field of trotters will contest fha. Introductory Handicap-- and it should not be a difficult' race to win. On recent form . tho only ones ' worthy of consideration aro To. Ngutu, Paradigm and Sweet Memory, and at the handicaps they should bo rather well matched. With the exception of Linnett tho Great, who is Scarcely ready yet; tile others are weak and the only likely improver may.be Motumaoho. Backers will probably follow form and give most support to Sweet Memory and To Ngutu. Sixteen slow-class pacers aro carded to contest tho Frankton Handicap and bomo of these displayed fair form last season. Nel Beau tind My Tliorpo aro winners on tho limit and First Flisht is a promising lilly also on the front. All tho others behind the limit division have shown form and there aro therefore many possibilities. Probably tho best of this division may be Peter Lloyd, Regret and To Wahia. although Limosa may also have to be considered. It should bo n decent betting /ace, with the Nel do Beau-First Flight bracket, Peter Lloyd and My Thorpe best fancied.

The Mark Memorial Handicap has attracted a nice field and promises to be en interesting contest. Mountain Dell is nicely placed on tho limit and# Lindbergh is also favourably handicapped. 'llicsa improving pacers aro likely to make it difficult for the others, although horsos like Warplano and Tony Victor might tal'.o a deal of boating. Lindbergh aud Mountain Dell will probably dispute favouritism and Tony Victor may also be in demand. Some useful trotters fisuro in tho Hamilton Handicap and the issue is decidedly open. Akenehi is nicely placed and will only havo to trot tsolidly to seriously trouble the opposition. Anselino should go a good race, while Etta Cole, Gold Sovereign and Peter McKinney should all have good chances. Akenehi may bo the favourite and there is also likely to be strong support for Etta Colo and Pcto r MoKinney.

The Claudelands Handicap has attracted a useful field and soveral of tho candidates in ' Enawah, Polly's Picture and Limosa havo recent form to rccoinniond them. Bell Dial should have' a chance of! tho. limit and Arnchne is an improving pacer who shonld make a bold showing, Hal Chimes, will also enter into calculations if produced in the right condition, and Explosion might be a possibility, too, Enawah, Polly's Picture and Arachne ato Cicely handicapped and, may claim most attention. .

Some speedy pacers are engaged in the Stewards' Handicap and tho event is very open. Nolla Dillon and Pearl Logan may bo the best of thoeo near the front, whilo Groat Peter, Vendome, Bruius and Mountain Dell are all possibilities. .Toy Bird and Tony Victor may also have to be considered, but, as they aro conceding starts to improving horeos, thoy will not find it an easy task to overhaul some of the horHCs rear the front of tho handicap. It should bo a good betting race and backers may show a preference for Pearl Logan, Great Peter and Vcndomo.

Most of those engaged in iho President's Handicap ai'o carded to compete earlier in the d»y and therefore a wood lino on the prospects may be obtained from previous running. Peterson scorns likely to take considerable beating off the limit, white Bell .Dial, Alcenehi, Anseline and Etta Colo ure all possibilities. Peterson, Bell Dial and Etta Cole are likely to command solid support. i Nearly all tho candidates for the Visitors' Handicap have previous encasements, and hero again earlier form might givo a guide to the chances. Groat Parrish should go well off the limit, and Belle Axworthy is anothor likoly to mnko a bold showing. There are a number of possibilities among the others, but the best of these may bo Arachno and Pearl Logan. The event should attract good wagering and the prime fancies may include Great Parrisb, Arachhe and,"Bella 'Axworthy. ' SEASON'S FIXTURES. October 12—Wttikdto'Trotting^Olnb. October ID—Northland Trotting Glub. October 20, 28—Auokl&nd. Trotting Club, November 2— Wellington Trotting Club.
