WASHING WOOLLIES.
Woollies need not be shrunken and discoloured if thev arc washed carefully. If you havo 'difficulty in washing woollies without pulling them out of shape, try putting an ordinary enamel colander into tho bowl in which the article is to bo washed. . , . „. ■> Drop tho wet article into this and knead very firmly." This gives a firm surface to squeeze against, while the holes let tho water away freely, so that the garmont can be pressed dry without spoiling its shape. If you have difficulty in preventing woollens from shrinking during washing, use water as hot as you can boar, with plenty of good soap jelly, and gently squeeze tho articlos until thoroughly soapy. Now nnso with water quite as hot as that used for the washing, and the good 3 will como out soft and white when dry, without shrinking at all.
