WAIKATO FINANCE CORPORATION. The prospectus of a new company, the Waikato Finance Corporation, Limited, lias been announced. The registered capital of the venture is £250,000, divided into 100,000 cumulative preference shares of £1 each, and 150,000 ordinary shares of £1 each, which are now offered for public subscription. The objects of the company are to carry on a business of a loan, mortgage and finance company in all its branches, it being the intention of the promoters to establish an organisation to supplement the present banking facilities for the promotion of different undertakings. t'ho first directors are Messrs. Frank Vickery, motor importer, of Hamilton; Norman James Holdc-n, agent, of Hamilton ; David Andrews, builder, of Hamilton ; Edward James Tidd, merchant, of Hamilton; and Walter Cooper-Smith, farmer, of Tuhikaramea. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] DUNEDIN, Friday. Dry weather being experienced throughout the South Island is causing millers to pay more attention to wheat still remaining in stores. A fair amount of buying is also taking place from Canterbury and Otago farmers of next season's crop. Milling prices are unchanged at 5s 9d, sacks extra, on trucks,.country sidings; Hunter's, 6s and velvet, 6s 3d. The oats market remains quiet and little business is passing. Stocks are light and will be required for the local, demand. Quotations are already being made for delivery next season, A grade Gartons being named at 3s 6d, f.0.b., s.i., spread delivery, April to September. The present nominal values are 3s 7£d, f.0.b., s.i., for A grade and 3s 6d for B grade. These values are equivalent to 3s Id and 2s lid respectively on trucks, country sidings, sacks extra. No alteration can be recorded in the chaff market. Best quality is selling at £5 a ton, sacks extra, ex truck, and £6 ss, ex store.

Increased inquiries are being experienced for potatoes, particularly from the east coast of the North Island. The demand ' has been in excess ofiofferings, as holdera aKQ still inclined to wait to see if they can obtain tho prices which were ruling earlier in the season. Best quality, freshly pioked lines are saleable at about £9 to £9 10s a ton, sacks included, ex truck. Tho seed market is quiet, the only jbusiness going through being with the retail houses. Prices were about on a par with those ruling recently. Quotations: —Shorn ewes in fresh condition, 20s Gd; empty cows, £6 10s to ±7 10s; empty heifors. A's 7s Gd; yearling steers, to £6 ss.
