MORE STAND ACCOMMODATION. Tho management committee of the Auckland Rugby Leaguo met last evening, Mr. G. Rhodes presiding. . The question ot improved accommodation at Carlaw l'ark was raised by Mr. E. Redwood, who wanted to know when a start would be made with an extra stand and dressing rooms. , , The chairman replied that extra grandstand accommodation was a serious financial matter, one at present the League <Jr its trustees could not undertake. From specifications be had seen an additional up-to-date structure on the present stand would cost £12.000. It would mean a lot of excavation and retaining walls, expense that was altogether unnecessary. Mr. Rhodes said he had yet to observe that increased stand accommodation was necessary, seeing the poor revenue derived. " Our present stand is taken up by some 600 vice-presidents each Saturday," added the speaker. Mr. Rhodes, however, said he was keen to assist players in providing better dressing rooms and offices where the League could centralise its business. It was decided to hold a special meeting, when the financial position would be made known and definite plans announced.
