The Waikato Trotting Club has fixed its ftprinc meeting to bo held at Claudelands, Hamilton, on Saturday, October 12. 'i'he programme to bo brought off comprises eight events, showing priz<Mnoney to the umount of £1550. The leading even<3 r.ie the Mark Memorial Handicap of £450 end cabinet of cutlery (two ntiles, limit 4.38), and the Stewards' Handicap of £2lO 'one mile, limit 2.10). Nominations for all events close next Friday at 5 p.m., and the same may be lodged with the secretary, Auckland Trotting Club, or with the i"ecretary, Waikato Trotting Club, Hamilton.

SOUND FINANCIAL POSITION.
The annual meeting of tho club is to be held on the 30th inst. Tho balance-sheet for tho past year bliows a loss of £l2O 8s 2d, against a net profit for the previous season of £733 7b. The deficit is accounted for mostly by tho increase in stakes paid, £250; the loss of totalizator revenue, £187; and tho grant of £2Ol Is 4d to tho To Arohr. Jockey Club for courso improvements. The club, however, is ptill in a very sound financial position, having accumulated funds of £IS7G 3s sd, of which sum £7OO is on lean to the To Aroha Jockey Club, at call, at 5 per cent, interest.
In order that course improvements can bo completed as early as possible ard work Koiie on with immediately after the Jockey Club's rare meeting on March 1 and 3. 19U0, the committed has selected Saturday, January 25, .1930, as the date of the annual racn meeting.
Mr. Hunt, after holding the offico of vicepresident for many years, has retired from office. The thanks of the club oro due to him for the ablo assistance given by liim at oil times. The retiring officers, viz.: President, Mr. R. L, Sinners; vice-presidents, Messrs. P. Daine, R. Btrrkc and F.I. Hunt; treasurer, Mr. Geo. If. Deverell; and four members of the committee, Messrs. G. P. Goodfellow, T. J. Ilickey, H. Jackson and Jas. Kenny, with the exception of Mr. Hunt, who did riot seek reelection, have been again nominated for the various offices, and Mr. H. E. D. "Willcox has heen nominated for tho vacant vice-presidency, and as tho nominations do not exceed the vacancies these gentlemen are declared duly elected.
