SERIES OF ACCIDENTS.
FOOTBALLERS INJURED.
YOUTH FRACTURES LEG.
Two footballers were injured on Saturday afternoon. Concussion of the brain was sustained by Mr. J. Davis, of Avondale, who was playing for Ponsonby third grade against Newton at Point Chevalier. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital in the St. John Ambulance, and .his condition last evening was hot considered serious. Mr. N. .7, McConnell, aged 21, who lives at the Y.M.C.A., had his right leg broken while playing senior - Rugby at Eden Park. Ho was taken to the Auckland Hospital.
Ag a result of a bag of flour falling on him "while ha was working at the factory of By croft, Limited, on Saturday morning, George Edward Carpenter, aged 18, sustained a fracture of the right leg. The youth, who lives at 58, Lincoln Street, Ponsonby, was taken to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. A laceration of an eyeball was sustained by Mr. W. E. Hooton, a waterside worker, whilo unloading cargo from the steamer Kurow on Saturday morning. The injured man, who is married, and resides at 31, England JStreet, Fonsonby, was taken to the Auckland Hospital in the St. John Ambulance. After receiving treatment in the casualty ward, he wa# able to proceed to his home.
