AMERICAN COASTGUARD'S ACT.
iAustralian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received September 20, 7.33 p.m.) HALIFAX. Sept. 19. A Canadian schooner, the Shawnee, *hich arrived at Halifax to-day from Bermuda, was hit by three shells fired ftom a United Slates coastguard vessel off New York. The Americans admit firing, but say the captain of tho schooner refused to Mop when he was challenged.
