ROYAL GIFTS.
Six beautiful Kashmir shawls arrive at Buckingham Palace every year for tho King. They come from tho ruler of Kashmir as a sort of annual " duo " to His Majesty as Emperor of India. Theso shawls, which aro largo and very soft, aro made in tho Northern State of India from which they get their name. The King and Queen givo them away as presents, and several of tho ladies of tho Court aro tho fortunato possessors of a Kashmir shawi fhis year, when tho packet arrived, their Majesties gave one to tho Duchess of York who is delighted with her gift, a creamy white, with a handsomo border pattern in subdued colours.
