LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
EPSOM BRANCH.
The annual meeting of the Epsom branch of the League of Mothers was held in the Baptist Church Hall, Inverness Avenue, on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. T. H. Macky, president, occupied the chair.' The secretary reported, that the branch was steadily increasing its membership, and there was noticeable a growing spirit of enthusiasm among the members. Thanks to the Baptist Church authorities for the use of the school hall were expressed, also to the Ke'v. Mr. Cruickshank, Mrs. Jelly, Mrs. Victor Macky, Mrs. Swabey, Mrs. Hyanis, Dr. Mujor, D.D., and Dr. J. P. Hastings for their interesting addresses. . The election of officers was as follows: President, Mrs. T. H. Macky; vice-presi-dents, Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, Mrs. "W; H. Gtimmerj hon. secretary, .Mrs. F, W. Wilson; treasurer and librarian, Mrs. Win. Traill; committee, Mrs. T. H. Hill, Mrs. Victor Macky, Mrs. Arthur Jones, Mrs. D. Mackay, Mrs. Uren.
The speaker for the afternoon was Dr. Padget, inspector of hospitals, who gave an instructive address upon maternal welfare, which dealt specially with the importance of systematic 'ante-natal care. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs, Wm. McDonald and Mrs. W. R. Penn.
