OPOSSUMS AND BIRD LIFE.
REPORT TO GOVERNMENT*
It was announced by Professor H. B. Kirk, professor of zoology at Victoria College, at 1 the Acclimatisation Societies' Conference in Wellington on Wednesday, that his report for the Government dealing with the question whether opossums were destroying native bird life, would be completed in about six weeks. He stated that ho had as yet found no trace of egg shells or feathers in any of the beasts that he had examined.
