BOAT RACES.
Sir, —As the statement of C. N. Gibb, cadet-captain, s.s. Northumberland, apropos the recent boat race, appearing in Thursday's Herald reads somewhat ambiguously, thus misleading, it would bo highly appreciated if it could be pointed out that only one race has taken place between the rival cadets' crews, not several, as was inferred; also, the race in question was entirely unconnected with the Wellington Cup, which we had the honour of winning a short while ago at Wellington. H. Hastings, Hororata Stroke.
