WESTMINSTER SINGERS.
I Much success has attended the present visit of the Westminster Glee Singers at His Majesty's Theatre. The season ends on Saturday with matinee and evening performances. The company will then appear at Whangarei on Monday and .Tuesday, and at Hamilton on Friday and Saturday. The fine programmes presented have been changed nightly, and the large audiences which have attended 1 have testified to the high quality of the musical entertainment provided. The programme presented last evening fully maintained the previous high standard, and both the gentlemen and the boy sopranos were heard to particular advantage. Commencing, with the madrigal "The Merry Month of May," by the gentlemen, last evening's offering proceeded smoothly through solos, company items, glees and choruses. The company was heard to good advantage in a cycle of Scottish songs arranged by. Mr. Edward Branscombe. Old English and Irish songs were also given pleasant prominence. Sailor shanteys, an anthem and a Scottish quartette were outstand" ing numbers in the second of fch» programme. A well-selected and diversified programme will be offered this even*' ing, •• V. : ': .. '
