Todd, late of Kaikohe, has been appointed medical officer at Murchison by the Nelson Hospital Board. The Hon. G. W. Gaisford and Mr. Walter" Fuller, of Wellington, and Mr. I* G. Davidson and Mr. W. J. Davidson, of Dargaville, are at the Central Hotel. Mr. J. St. John Smith, of Chris'.chnrch, Mr. M. Janjon, of Wellington, Mr. B. Stewart, of Rotorua, and Mr. G. E. King, of Kohukohu, are at the Star Hotel Mr. W. J.. Orr and Mr. E. A. Simmons, of Whangarei, Mr. R. Simmons, of Taumarunui, and Mr. A. Hutley, of Awarifo North, are at the Royal Hotel. Canon C. H. Grant Cowen has accepted tho office of honorary chaplain to the Fire Brigades Association which was rendered vacant by the death of the late Rev. W. E. Gillam. Mr. H. H. Proseus, of New York; Mr. A. A. Gregory and Mr. A. M. Pooley, of Sydney, and Mr. W. Feilding, Mr. F. E. Grienish and Mr. S. W. Fearn, of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. The Rev. Trevor V. Gilfillan, son of Mr. H. Gilfillan, of St. Stephen's Avenue, Pwnell, is on furlough in Auckland. He has been in China for nine years and has recently been stationed at Peking. , Mi*. E. Smith and Mr. H. T. King, of Auckland, who have been attending a meeting of the Pharmaceutical Boara in Wellington, "arrived in Hamilton yesterday to attend" the annual meeting of the Auckland provincial chemists. Mr. H. T. Merritt, president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, Mr. M. . Stewart, vice-president, and Mr. L. A. Eady and Mr. A. M. Seaman, members, have been appointed to represent the chamber at the conference of associated chambers to be held in Auckland next month.
