SCHOOL DENTAL CLINICS.

PROPOSAL AT HAMILTON.

EFFORT TO RAISE MONEY.

HAMILTON, Thursday.

Efforts are being made at Hamilton to extend the operations of the school dental clinic- system. At a meeting of the joint clinic committee last evening it was decided to endeavour to raise sufficient funds to provide two clinics. It was also decided to seek the co-operation of the private schools. Mr. R. IX Elliot, inspecting officer of tho division of dental hygiene, said smaller towns than Hamilton had shown more enthusiasm for the clinics. There were 1550 children under the care of the Hamilton clinic, representing a probable saving to parents of £IO,OOO. It was decided to erect.the proposed new clinics at the Whitiora and Hamilton East schools. A motion fixing a levy of 6d on the school committees in respect of all pupils to whom the service is available was carried.
