CORONATION DECORATIONS.
ALLEGATIONS OF CORRUPTION

A scandal connected with the alleged corrupt sale of decorations is occupying public attention in Japan. Tho director of tho Docorations Bureau, Amaoka, has been remanded in custody. The latest arrest is that of a motion picturo actor, Yokota, who is accused of a "friendly purchase" of a decoration from Amaoka.
The scandal is connected chiefly with the coronation decorations and the alleged corruption involves huge sums of money at a time when tho public was being exhorted to practise the strictest economy for tho restoration of tho trade balance.
