HUNTLY DAFFODIL SHOW.
FINE DISPLAY OF BLOOMS.
The spring show held under tho auspices of tho Huntly Horticultural and Beautifying Society on Monday was* a great success. Many beautiful blooms wore exhibited, chief among them being a splendid exhibition of daffodils from Messrs. D. Hay and Sons, Auckland. Tho judges were:—Daffodils, Mr. N. It. W. Thomas, Auckland; cut flowers and decorative section, Mr. .T. H. Braithwaitc, Auckland; towing and fancy work, Mrs. Seccombe, Jluntly. Mrs. Fairhurst, Miss Smith and Messrs. F. Harris, J. Turton and H. Meadows acted as stewards.
An outstanding feature of the show was tho display of school work done by tho pupils of the Ilunlly District High School. Tho work was of a high standard, taken from the different classes in the school, and the judgo had a bard ta3k before him. Winners of points prizes wore:—Huntly Daffodil Cup, J. H. Braithwaitc, Auckland; certificate of merit, E. George; champion blooms, 11. Meadows, T. Sleo,. E. Georgo, G. A. Shaw and T. Cox; amateur section, Mrs. C. Bailey; novice section, G. Slee; pot plants and decorativo section, Mrs. G. A .Shaw; cub flowels, G. A. Shaw; sewing and fancy work, Mrs. H. Payno.
