CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND GUN CLUB.
There was a good attendance of mombers of tho Auckland Gun Club and friends at Pakuranga yesterday, when ,a scries ,of matches was hold, 20 shooters taking part. A five birds' match was divided by F. H. Soccombo (27yds), and E. N. Barratt (23yds), with tho possible. A first miss-out match was won by C. E. Hodge (26yds), with fivo birds. It, H. Hartley (25yds), R. 11. Montgomery (25yds) ami W. Fairley (25yds) tied for second with four birds each. _ Tho second miss-out match was divided by E. ,T. Schofield (26yds) and A. E. Brow no Cioyds), on tho fifth round. A 15 birds' match for Mr. W. E. Grant's trophy resulted in a fio botwecn B. Ilanigan (25yds) aud R. H. Bartley (15yds), with 14 each. They divided tho stakes and shot off for tho trophy, Hanigan winning on tho eighteenth round. Mr. A. M. Bnrtley's trophy will bo competed for next Wednesday.
