STEADY TRADING CONTINUES.

Stcady trading continued on the Auckland Stock Exchnngo yesterday. A firm demand was maintained for gilt-edge securities, but sellers quoted in only two instances. New Zealand Breweries debentures continued their upward movement and sold at 30s 9d, higher than on Tuesday. In banks Australasias were sought Is firmer at £l4 lis, but sellers did not quote. Unions of Australia wero done at £ls Is, a fall of 6d on the last local sale.

An advance of 2d to 17s in sellers' quotations for Nationals was tho only movement. in insurance. In loan and agency Goldsbrough-Morls had a current-price sale at 465, and more wero wanted at 45s 3d.

In coal Pukeniiros moved up further willi Iwo sales at 76s 6d, a rise <>f is 6d. Buyers offered 75s for more, sellers 78s. In several other instances offers were ad vanced a shade.

In breweries New Zealands were in demand at late rates and were unchanged with a sale at 91s. Staples' wero done one penny firmer at 54s 6d. In miscellaneous Sanfords, preferred, had salo 9d cheaper at 20s. New Zealand I'arinois Fertilisers sold at 22s 6d, compared with recont transactions at 22s 7d. More activity was shown in the mining group. Ohinemuris dropped Is 2d to soil at 9s 6d, at which price there were further offers. Sellers were asking 9s 9d, compared with 10s 6d at tho close of Tuesday's business. Waihis were done at 13s 4d, tho current prico, and Mount Lyells also changed hands at late rates.
