NEARLY A CENTENARIAN.
DEATH OF MRS. S. N. NEILSEN. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Tuesday. The death has .occurred at Hairini of Mrs. Serina Neta Neilscn, at tho ago of 99 years and 9 months. Mrs. Neilscn was born in Denmafk, and came to New Zealand in the sailing ship Rix Star, 50 years ago. Sho and her husbarra lived at Stony Creek, Palmerston North, for some years, and "afterwards removed to Darinevirke. where her husband engaged in farming. Mr. Neilson died 14 years ago. Ten years ago Mrs. Neilscn came to live with her grandson, Mr. N. A. Jacobscn, at Hairini. Sho retained all her faculties until shortly before she died./ She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles Jacobsen, of Hairini, several grandchildren and 44 great-grandclulclrcn.
