AUSTRALIAN FLOODS.
RIVER FLATS SUBMERGED. SNAKES CLIMB TO SAFETY. (Received Ausust 19, 0.5 p.m.) SYDNEY. Aus. 19. Recent tains and (ho backing of tho water by tho Hume Weir, near Albury, is causing floods on the Mitta River flats. Stock are being removed and road traffic is blocked.
Hundreds of tiger snakes have been seen climbing to the tops of fences and the limbs of trees above the water.
