MAURETANIA'S FAST TRIP.

BREMEN STILL UNBEATEN.

NEW YORK, Aug. 9

With an average speed of 27 knots on her fast run from Cherlwurg to New York, the Cunard liner Mauritania failed by four and a-half hours to beat tho record made recently by the new German liner, Bremen, but lowered Jier own previous record by about three hours when she arrived .yesterday morning.

Tho Bremen's record is 4 days 18 hours 15 minutes, when she averaged 27.7 knots, while tho official time of the 22-year-old Cunauler was 4 days 22 hours- 44 minutes. Her previous best for the I rip was 5 days 1 hour 49 minutes, at an average speed of 26.25 knots, in 1924.
