The Boy Scouts' jamliorec at Arrowe Park. Birkenhead, ended with a remarkable pageant of friendship. In the arena Scouts of all nations mingled for the march past, the Chief Scout, Lord Baden-Powell, following the massed flags of all countries. Lord Baden-Powell stood in the centre of a huge wheel, of which the spokes and rim were made up of Scouts standing at attention.

Addressing the boys, Lord BadenPowell, whoso voice was heard clearly, told how some of these present belonged to nations who were enemies in the world war, but he hoped they now would be returning to their countries to be the emissaries of peace. Lord Baden-Powell then buried the hatchet at the centre of the wheel.

Then ho clasped the hands of tho nearest boys, who in turn clasped the hands of others, friendship thus circulating from hand to hand right round the wheel and up and down the spokes. Tho Scouts sang Auld Lang Syne. Tho pageant made the deepest impression on Lord Baden-Powell, who was much affected by the demonstration of goodwill.

It has been revealed that the Boy Scouts, desirous of presenting the Chief Scout with a memento of the jamboree, sent an emissary to Lady Baden-Powell asking what her husband would prefer. She asked him during one of his few spare moments and lie replied, " A pair of braces," but when the situation was explained, he clioso a motor-car. Tho car was later presented.
