SIR EDWARD KEMP.

Awtrnliiin I're?s Asuocintion—United Service (Received August 13, 5.5 p.m.) TORONTO. Aug. 12. The death has occurred of Sir Edward Kemp, a former Cabinet Minister and a member ot the Senate, aged 71.

Sir Albert Erlward Kemp was horn in Quebec Province in 1858. lie was a manufacturer of hardware and a very wealthy man. He entered the Canadian House of Commons in 1900, and was Minister of Defence, 1916 17, Minister of the Overseas Military Forces, 1917 20, and a member of the "imperial War Cabinet, 1918. He. was a member of the Conservative Party.

MR. GEORGE TATE. SYDNEY, Aug. 13. The death has occurred of Mr. George Tate, aged 49. He was one of the best judges of dairy cattle in Now South Wales, and his services had been availed of by the New Zealand Government.
