GOOD START FOR' SEASON.

NORTHERN WAIROA OPERATIONS.

DARGAVILLE, Tuesday,

Tho dairying season hits opened well in tho Northern Wairoa, aud tho Northern Wairoa Co-operative Company's figures for butter-fat received and advances made show a slight advance over thoso of last season. This is a good sign, as the season so far has boon tho wettest for a decade—hardly ono day without rain in two months. For July tho butter-fat received was 40,1671b, as against 44,9571b for July, 1928. For tho two months ended July tho amount of butter-fat roccivcd was 103,7141b., against 108,1501b. for tho same period in 1928. Tho advance for last month's supply totals £3482 lis, against £3185 13s 6d for July, 1928, and for tho two months of the season £7700 lis 9d, against £7397 6s 9d.

In addition to the July pay-out sup-_ pliers will receive £26,448 12s by way of a further payment on last season's supplies and dividend.

MERCURY BAY COMPANY.

ANOTHER GOOD YEAR EXPECTED

[BY TELEGRAFII. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.! WHITIANGA. Tuesday. The 19th annual meeting of the Mercury Bay Co-operative Dairy Company was held yesterday and was well attended. Tho chairman, Mr. N. A. Wells, stated that the pay-out would comparo favourably with factories of similar size. Tho net average price, for all grades of buttcr-fat was 16 8-lod per pound, and with cream collection and water account sinking fund deductions added the total average pay-out was 17 11-20 d. 'lhc output of butter was 195 tons for 11 months, against 130 tons for the I<2 months of tho previous season. Seven hundred tons of manures had been obtained for suppliers under tho manure finance scheme, and 740 pigs had been sent to tho Pig Marketing Association for export. Prospects for tho ensuing season were good, two-thirds of tho output having been already disposed of at satisfactory prices. , , . Tho election of directors resulted in tho return of Messrs. S. Bryce, Hamilton, O. Hamilton, J. H. Keeua, A. A. Kennedy, L. Lowo, H. T. Robinson, P. A. Simpson and N. A. Wells. Mr. Wells was reappointed chairman.

BAY OF PLENTY ASSOCIATION.

LARGE INCREASE IN OUTPUT,

The annual meoting of tho Bay of Plenty Dairy Association was held yesterday, and attracted a large .attendance of suppliers. Mr. C. L. Luko presided. Tho chairman's report showed that tho output was 1505 tons, against 1300 tons for tho previous season, an increase of 200 tons, equivalent to 15 per cent. Mr. D. Wickhani moved that in view of tho successful season tho factory employees be given as a bonus £2OO, to bo equally divided. The motion was curried by 35 votes to 25. Tho election of thrco directors to till vacancies resulted in the return of Messrs. D F. Wickham, I. Vercoo and C. L. Luke. Mr. 11. W. Earp was elected auditor for tho association.
