TO-DAY'S WEATHER.

HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST.

The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. 11. M. Vincent last evening:— Fair to ftno weather is indicated temporarily, with cold night temperatures and inland frosts, but becoming milder shortly and cloudiness increasing. Variahio and moderate breezes, southerlies prevailing, and giving place to northerly to northeasterly winds, moderate to strong, freshening. Seas moderate. Barometric pressure is now high over tho Dorjiinion, and tho westerly storm area has passed eastward. There aro indications for tho development of a disturbance of tropical character northwestward of New Zealand, which is likely to affect northern districts after about 21 hours. GOVERNMENT REPORT. Tho Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—A fairly intense anti-cyclono is advancing on to New Zealand. A cyclono has developed on tho coasti of New South Wales. Indications are for south-westerly winds, backing to south and south-east, moderate to strong generally, but decreasing over tho South Island. Seas rough between Akaroa and East Capo and north of Kawhia; elsowhero moderate. Moderate southerly winds in tho eastern Tasnian, backing to east and north-east in tho northern portion., Seas smooth to moderate, but rising Utter in tho northern portion. Still some showers along tho east coast and in tho extremo north and south, but improving; fino in other districts. Cold temperatures, with many frosts.
