COMMISSIONER TO RETIRE.
SUCCESSOR APPOINTED
United Service. LONDON, Aug. 11. Sir Alfred Pick ford, Imperial Overseas Commissioner of the Hoy Scouts, has announced his iesignation, which will take effect in October. His successor will be Colonel Granville Walton. Lord Haden-l'owelt, the Chief Scout, has presented each Dominion with a flag \vhieli has been flown on the Cenotaph in Whitehall.
Sir Alfred Pickford was a merchant in India for many years, lie was Sheriff of Calculi a in 1920, and a member of the Indian Legislative Assembly. Ho was knighted in 1921.
