WAXGANUI, Monday
A Maori, Stanley Brooks, who was charged to-day with negligently driving a motor-cycle on the Parapara Road, told the magistrate, Mr. J. It. Salmon, that lie thought the outside of the road was the correct one for him to take in descending a hill. He was fined £5, with costs.
The case was the outcome of a collision between the motor-cycle ridden by defendant and a car driven by Edwin P. Vaughan. The magistrate commented en the fact that defendant did not even know the rule of the road.
