EXPLOSION IN STREAM.
VICINITY OF CULVERT# NEWLY-MADE STRUCTURE. [by telegraph.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Sunday. A violent explosion occurred at Tauwhare, on the Cambridgc-Morrinsville Road, on Thursday evening. It. is attributed to an attempt to blow tip a culvert that was recently constructed under the road by the Eureka Drainage Board.
Gelignite was evidently used, but the charge exploded several chains downstream from the road.
