MISHAP TO ELECTRIC TRAIN.
STEAM ENGINES REQUISITIONED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. A mechanical defect in an electric locomotive which drew the early goods train to Lyttelton yesterday morning caused a hold-up at an awkward moment. The train stopped in the middle of the tunnel, and it was not till two steam locomotives arrived from Lyttelton and towed the train through that the (rouble was overcome. • 1
