STORMY WEATHER.

DELAYS TO SHIPPING. MAKURA RUNNING LATE. ' Boisterous wet weather prevailed in Auckland during tho week-end. The wind blew strongly' from the south-west and heavy rain showers fell at frequent intervals. The showers were less frequent last evening and tho conditions were inclined to improve.

A report from the Manukau Heads last night staled that a south-west gale had been blowing since Saturday and there was a very rough sea on the West Coast. The conditions were also stormy on the East Coast and are delaying shipping. The Canadian National steamer Canadian Conqueror, which was duo at Auckland from Wellington at 11 o'clock last night, reported yesterday morning that she w«s meeting with severe stormy south-west weather in the Bay of Plenty and she would not arrive until to-day. The lioval Mail liner Makura, from Vancouver, via Honolulu and Suva, is also being delayed. She. was scheduled to reach Auckland at 10 o'clock t his morning, but according to her wireless report yesterday she now expects to arrive at two o'clock this afternoon. The tanker Lumen and the Canadian National si earner Canadian Conqueror, which arrived at Auckland from San Francisco and Montreal respectively yesterday morning, reported having encountered very stormy weather when approaching New Zealand.
