MANUKAU CLUBS YEAR. PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. The Manuka" Yacht. and Motor-boat Club held its annual smoke Concert'and presentation of prizes on Saturday evening. The president, Mr A McLeod, presided. The sum of ,f."iu hail been raised by the club toward the cost of Coruwalljs Wharf, and during tho sea sou a bauliug-out, site for tho benefit (if buth clubs had been formed on a. site printed by the Borough Council. A mooring area. undcK the control of a committee representing the two clubs, had also been provided. The income for the totalled i'irt.j, and there was a. credit balance ot .l"V7.' licreipts for the Cornwall Cup fund amounted to inr,. mid after meeting all liabilities, including a. visit to Lytteliom a balance of ,t 1:! was carried forward. The assets of the club were valued at i'lOSa. and the membership stood at lf:'J. Krsponding to the toast of "Local Bodies. Mr jr. If. Wynyard. chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, said it. was always prepared to assist yachting on both the Manuka" and Waitemata. A splendid boatharbour had been provided ill St. Mar.v's Bav. and he foil sure the day would come when the Manukau boat-owuers would also have a boat-harbour and a reserve. The Mayor of ■Ouehunga. Mr. E. Morton, assured the meeting of the sympathy of the Ouehunga Borough Council. Mr. N. Wilson raid the club was doing mo.e for the education of boys in sailing than any other yacht, club ill New Zealand. The most important trophies presented wore:—'Waiters JT.. champiouship cup, flag and medal: Valdora, points cup; Sea Gnome, l-lft. championship cup and medal; Cold Light. 18ft. championship (lag and medal; Surprise, Kermatb Cup (first six monthsi; Dione, Kcrniatli Cup (second six month!:), and points cup for launches: Miss Clevedoli. speed-boat cbanipiou flag and cup. Mr. T. Pardington. the newly-elected president was presented with a life membership medal, and Mr. A. McLeod, the rctirin:; president, was given a case of pipes.
